There used to be less than 100 of these after using the system for a whole day. Any idea what has caused this?thanks in advance. Thank you for the reply dreamer.

The laptop appears to be running normally except it takes @ 1 to1-1/2 minutes to log onto the network wirelessly, where it was almost instantly previously. There has not been any software installed, or any changes made to the system in over 2 months. I have scanned for viruses and malware, none found. Secondary pi server certificates for mac. Taskmanager shows no new processes or services running, of course this is from memory.

The only change is the windows updates (14) that came on the 18th, and McAfee's updates.I found the 1st link you posted previously. I will try the suggestions in the 2nd link when I get home and post the results. Barring that, all I can think of is running system restore back to a point prior to the 18th.

Barring that, all I can think of is running system restore back to a point prior to the 18th.Everyone here including me is of opinion that McAfee is as damaging as malware itself. Its a resource hog as well as poor in virus detection. If you have McAfee subscription then its up to you but i suggest to remove McAfee and install other anti virus.MSE and Avast are two free anti viruses that are highly recommended here.Try to roll back before 18th and then check event viewer.Let us know how it goes. I rolled the system back to the 18th, after the reboot, the network connected almost immediately.

The 7036 ids have been reduced to under 600, and stop once the os has fully booted. Computer browser service seems to be the culprit, taking over 500 start and stop messages in these 7036 ids. The service will not stay running even when manually started from the services menu. The network and internet are all working fine.I checked all the dependencies for the computer browser, they are all running. On my other pcs the service continues to run.I removed and reinstalled the wireless adapter drivers, no difference. I have gone through the system logs to see if any changes were made to software, or hardware were made, nothing there.

The only difference I can spot is the node type for the network adapter is now broadcast, I believe it used to be hybrid.I also see a new error id 1001, appear on start up from the DHCP client trying to assign an ip address to the virtual wifi miniport.I'm at a loss as to what has changed for sure.thanks in advance. Well its back with a vengeance. 1382 start /stop of the computer browser on startup. All in less than 2 seconds. Nothing in the logs as to what is triggering it. Something on the system is shutting down the browser as soon as it starts. Disabling the service slows my network to a crawl.I've check the MS forums, there are many others with this anomaly.

The MS techs either do not know what is causing this, or do not know how to fix it. I opened a support ticket, but am not holding my breath.I'll post here if I find a solution.thanks. I found the problem, but not a solution. Windows Firewall has been changed with the January security updates.

It does not affect all systems (1 of my 4), but disabling the firewall stops the 7036's for the computer browser.I followed up with MS on my support ticket, now it seems they ARE aware of this. They could have saved me endless hours of work and grief if they had just admitted there is a problem with their firewall but no solution as yet. Thanks for nothing MS.I'll keep this thread posted if a solution is found.thanks.
