Ok, I copied the disc to a high quality Verbatim DL DVD, and inserted it. This time the screen said 'Updating System Software to 9.03'.
This took a few minutes, then the Nav screen came up showing me parked outside my house on the map. Brilliant, I thought. However, if I try to enter a Destination (or set my Home address), hitting 'Address' does nothing - the red border appears round the button and the system beeps to let me know I pressed it, but nothing happens. And on the right there's a box saying 'Select Area', which is blank underneath then has a button saying 'Set Area'. If I press the 'Set Area' button, nothing happens.

Again, it goes red and the system beeps, but nothing happens.I'm sure on the 2010 DVD (burned to the exact same type of disc) the 'Set Area' button allowed me to choose a region (UK, European countries). It's as if the info is missing from the disc or something, but I know the maps or on there, cos as I said I can see my position on the UK map when I first switch to Nav.
