I've recently begun modding my skyrim, and I've decided that I would like to try out having multiple followers. Unfortunately, the three multiple follower mods: AFT, UFO, and EFF, don't seem to operate through the SkyUI MCM menu, making customization really laborious and difficult. This has led me to wonder if altering my follower count via the set playerfollowercount to command is permanent, allowing me to simply have more followers.

I'm assuming that if I set it to 4 or something, I will be able to have up to 4 followers at once. My question is if this command persists through saves and is permanent. It is permanentA friend has informed me that console commands that 'set' something are permanent, while commands that 'mod' something are not. I haven't been able to find anything either denying or confirming this, but it makes sense, as commands like set playerlevel have to be permanent, otherwise it would be entirely useless.Unfortunately, I have discovered that the console command does not increase your follower count. Apparently, all it can be used for is to reset it (aka, 0) in order to fix several follower related bugs.

Entering set playerfollowercount to 4 or something similar simply keeps your current follower and removes the dialogue option to recruit any others. It appears that a mod is required.

My first post asking a (potentially) dumb question instead of trying to answer one. I am in process of rebuilding Skyrim and I am torn between which follower mod to use; Ultimate Follower Overhaul or Amazing Follower Tweaks (I am assuming that they can't be used together, can they?).I was using UFO, and I did try AFT for a while, but I can't remember why I stopped using AFT.

It may have been because UFO is more popular and more modders say their follower mods work best with UFO.So, here is the second part of my question (and, yes, I could go off and find this out for myself, but I was thinking that maybe others may be wondering about these two mods themselves so I decided to post): are there male followers that were created to work with AFT? They list followers in the AFT mod description but they are all female, except for the patch that lets AFT work with the 3D NCP (Interesting NCPs) mod. Thanks in advance for your help.:). I started out using UFO and liked the 'immerisve' way it let you tweak the settings. You know like. To change a follower who was not essential to essential in UFO it's like 'You are very important' (or something like that). While AFT is more basic 'Click to set follower Essential'.But, now a days i use AFT anyway. I feel like AFT has more features that i like (i like the wardrobe function, to set like town clothes, sleep clothes, combat clothes for followers).

And i like how AFT lets you manually choose how your followers level up (a feature i don't remember UFO having). But, in the end really they have a few different features (and i don't think one is necessarily 'definitely' better than the other), so mostly i think you have to try them for yourself and see which one feels best for you.As for AFT working with male followers, i've used it with male followers that come with Interesting NPCs/3D NPCs, plus Hoth. Which is the only male follower i've added via a mod. UFO is not outdated.

Skyrim Ufo Or Aft Time

UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul(v1.8 Skyrim or higher required) UFO is a set of tools and enhancements to the followers system that will allow for better control and usability of followers. GOALS: Make it simple, so it works even for people that don't read description instruction.

On the contrary, it was made and updated for compatibility in mind. It lacks all the fancy features of others, but works with almost everything.- AFT is most alive follower mod from all of them. It works well with all vanilla characters, but has some problems with certain custom followers (so called 'smart followers') and overhauls. It has the largest learning curve, but otherwise it is a very good mod.- EFF with Dawnguard DLC is not recommended. However, if you are not using Dawnguard (and thus don't have Serana in your company), then EFF is probably fastest and easiest to use. If really you want to use EFF with Serana, be sure to grap 4.0 Alpha version instead of the current stable one.Edit: Ups, I didn't notice that BarbarianHeart had already thanked and moved forward. Oh well, here is my 2 cents for others.:).
