Yes, generally by far, though CS and Worldstone keep have act bosses in addition to being alvl85. Only Baal (of act bosses) can drop all items, and if you're looking to collect all items you would be wasting your time killing act bosses. It is also faster; i can quite reliably run AT in 50 seconds killing 5-6 bosspacks. Long in the tooth Diablo III. I am taking the unusual step of asking the AtariAge community for help because I have been playing Diablo 2 for so long and I still get can't past that friggin Duriel, the boss at the end of Act 2. No matter what I do, and who I consult, whether it is Gamefaqs, Barbarian, Bow Amazon, Col protection, Barbarian with knockback, two hands and stun, this boss is absolutely kicking my ass. The problem is that there is a limited amount of space and Duriel is all over you before you can get any licks in and he also has a tremendous amount of hit points. I use hirelings, keep a town portal ready, etc.

Any hints will help. I think the belt shortcuts were just the number keys 1-4Duriel is no prob as long as your lvl is high enough.Act 2 is definately the hardest act in my opinion, it's long and the boss is tough.My personal favorite is the sorc.You still should team up or have a good merc to distract Duriel.
(Better to team up)While he's distracted, get close and hit him with static field, this will knock his hit points down 25% each hit, in the 1st run you can take a boss down to next to no hit points with about 6 or 7 hits of static, then you just switch to your most powerful spell and finish him off. So basically he's down to almost no hit points in like 7 seconds.Later on in nightmare and hell there is a cap as to how much of an enemies HP you can get him down to. 33% left in NM and 50% left in hell. So for instance in NM once 67% of the HP are gone, static is no longer effective.The sorc's I use lay waste to Durial pretty quick even in hell and with no mercs.I use Marrowalk boots that allow you to cast a necro's LVL 33 bone prison!!First I hit him with that and he's trapped. Then hit him with static till he's down to 50% hit points. Still trapped.
I cast orbs a few times and finish him off.Easy. I have been using a Barbarian and Amazon. Any hints for those two Moycon? My Barbarian is at level 25 and I go double fisted with two broad swords, with sword mastery X10. Plus I got knockback ability due to special gloves.
It doesn't slow Duriel down in the least. I use a Bow Amazon with a socketed longbow with poison, cold and fire and I whale on Duriel with Freeze and then Magic Arrow. I never used a Necro or Sorceress and to tell you the truth I'm a little bit daunted by those two and the fear that it would require serious hotkey remembering and button mashing. I love the game but it really is getting a bit frustrating and not to mention really repetitive to keep going to the well so many times. The game is indeed repetitive.

I know I've played it like non-stop for like a year.Heh. Repetitive but fun. Kinda like Gauntlet on steroids.Now that Guild Wars will soon be out, and the added fact I have Neverwinter Nights to play before it does, at this point my Diablo2 days look bleak.

I have to log in every month to save my characters, but I rarely play.Unfortunately in all that time, I've rarely played as Barb, Zon or PallyI've played through to maybe LVL 10-15 on each but lose interest in them.Do you play online?If so I could hook up and give you any barb stuff I do have.(Which probably isn't much)Or just beat Duriel to get you past Act 2.
